Therapeutic + practical self-care

Lake Studio Massage and Yoga is owned and operated by certified massage therapist and registered yoga teacher Elizabeth Emer. She offers massage therapy with a focus on therapeutic Swedish and deep tissue and myofascial release. Your treatment will include the use of an herbal massage oil (an organic, non-gmo oil blend infused by Elizabeth with organic or locally-grown herbs known to soothe and calm the nervous system), heat via warm packs and a table heating pad, and essential oils. Second- and third- trimester pregnant clients can count on maximum relaxation by lying on their bellies on a special cushion placed over the table, if appropriate. Also offered and sometimes integrated into massages are reflexology and shiatsu, increasing your options for relaxation and pain relief.

Taking special care to give each client the individualized treatment that they need is the priority! Elizabeth listens carefully to each clients’ goals for the session, verbally communicates during the massage, and intuitively listens to the body throughout the treatment. Whether it is deeper and specific techniques to resolve a specific issue, general relaxation, an hour-long foot massage, or a neck and head massage to treat a headache— expect to receive the kind of bodywork you need.

Elizabeth’s yoga classes and individual or small group sessions focus on alignment, building strength and cultivating relaxation, practicing mindful embodiment, and meditation. She firmly believes that yoga and meditation are practical and tangible ways to come home to yourself and she hopes you will walk away feeling more connected and easeful in your mind and body each time. Elizabeth is so grateful to have been trained and certified in a traditional style of yoga that emphasizes all of the points listed above- the breath, proper alignment, relaxation, and meditation, by world-class teachers and experts at the Himalayan Institute/Yoga International. She looks forward to passing that wisdom onto you at the studio! Classes are open and encouraged for all levels from total beginner to advanced practitioner.
